PSGV Student Leadership Council 2023

Mission

The Penn State Great Valley Student Leadership Council is a group of distinguished graduate students who serve in the multifaceted role of PSGV ambassador and student advocate. As ambassadors, the Council communicates the benefits of the student programs and events to current and potential students at Penn State Great Valley.

Goal Working alongside the Student Engagement Coordinator, the Council’s role is to build a stronger community through events, information, and opportunities for interaction.

Values

Advocacy

• Be a representative, inclusive, and effective voice on behalf of the graduate student body.

• As student ambassadors, be active listeners and solicit input from current students about their experiences at PSGV; share findings with EMMS Team.

• Act as liaison between students and faculty/staff.

Leadership

• Engage with PSGV staff and faculty as student representatives.

• Act as a contact for international applicants who are considering attending PSGV • Encourage cross-cultural communication amongst students.

• Represent PSGV in the local community, the University-at-large, and internationally.

Membership  All members must be currently enrolled and in good standing at PSGV in a resident instruction program.

Commitment  Must be able to attend monthly meetings- virtually or in person. Be available and willing to participate in student activities on campus.
